Ann Arbor to Madison, WI (Day 28) September 19, 2019

327 miles today + 5767 = 6094 miles to date.

Woke up this morning and I played, "On The Road Again, by Willie Nelson. It made Beth laugh. That might be the theme song for this trip.

We had breakfast at Weber's. It was a perfect breakfast. Elegant setting. Basic breakfast food served just right. It was a luxury. More kudos to the Weber family! I was sad to leave Weber’s. I could stay there a long time! So comfortable.

Long six hour drive today. The roads were sketchy in spots. Lots of construction. Big trucks all over the place.

There is a common theme across the country: billboards every couple of miles for personal injury lawyers advertising for truck accidents. I doubt many of them have ever seen the inside of a court room.

We crossed Interstate 80 near Chicago. It made us think of home. We did a google map to see how long it would take to drive home: 24 hours plus 6 minutes.

We gained an hour today. We pulled into Greg and Sandi's house in Madison at what we thought was 3:30 to find out it was only 2:30. Percy met us at the door.

Greg and Sandi took us out for a real Wisconsin meal at The Old Fashioned. I drank two. We ate cheese curds and fried walleye sandwiches.

Across the state from the infamous State Capitol where Scott Walker ruined the state of Wisconsin

Beth and Sandi discussed that they are both Buddists. Greg topped them with a story of meeting the Dalai Lama at the University of Wisconsin Chancellors house, while listening to  Uriah Heep.

Love,

bear and Beth
