Toronto to Weber's (Ann Arbor, MI) (Day 27) September 18, 2019

Much easier drive today from Toronto to Ann Arbor. 284 miles.

It sounds much more impressive in KM - 457. Kilometers go much faster on the drive. The road was much more interesting. Yesterday, the highway was surrounded by high greenery. You could see nothing around you. Today, it was much more open around the roadway. We  got an earlier start. Much more relaxed.

Good to see the Great Lakes. We saw Lake Ontario while leaving Toronto. Hope to see Lake Michigan tomorrow on our way to Madison, Wisconsin. We got to Ann Arbor around 2 pm.

We were a bit apprehensive about customs. It was a breeze, the agent asked us about 7 questions and just waved us through. Beth got nervous when he asked where we had been and I truthfully answered, "everywhere". He just saw two old harmless retired people and let us off easy.

Nice to be back in the USA. No more issues with: language, money and measurements.

Beth found us a great lunch at the Lunch Box. A vegan restaurant. Good healthy salads.

It was farmers market day.

We made the obligatory walk thru Zingermans deli. [Overrated!]

Arrived at Weber's  Mike welcomed us at lobby. We got the same comfy suite - Rm 231. It is nice to have in laws in the hotel biz - comped room!  Thank you Ken, Mary, Mike and Brian.

Beth walked with Mary. I rode the stationary bike  for 45 minutes for the second day in a row. I listened to a playlist Meyer made for my birthday. Very enjoyable workout. Not a Mark Cutone workout; but, better than nothing. I am getting fat and out of shapea on this trip. My healthy diet is on vacation.

I had a swim and hot tub. The time for dinner with the Weber's:

Great wines and food. So nice to be taken care of so graciously.

We really needed this day. The R and R recharged our batteries. Looking forward to our visit with Greg and Sandi in Madison, Wisconsin tomorrow. Thinking about the ferry across Lake Michigan but will probably drive, after a hearty breakfast at Weber's. Will decide in the morning.

Love,

bear and Beth

p.s.: thanks to Peg and Meyer for the coffee cup

p.s.s: great email from JB and Janie who we met in Stonington
